Bursary Fund Program

 

Bursary Fund: The Chimo Youth Retreat Center has established a bursary fund for its former residents. It is intended to provide financial support for those who choose to pursue post secondary training at a recognized and reputable institution. The amount of an individual bursary will depend on the number of qualified applicants.

The maximum award per applicant is $1000.00.

Criteria for Applicants:
  • Past residents of Chimo 30 years of age and younger.
  • Not eligible for the Alberta Government Advancing Futures bursary.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicable to post secondary training for a minimum of one semester in duration.
  • Based on the current calendar year.
  • Applications are accepted in an on-going basis.
  • Reapplication of former recipients maybe considered if appropriate criteria are met.

A short statement of the applicant’s career plans and goals need to be included. The actual bursary monies will be issued after confirmation of enrolment.

The Chimo Youth Retreat Centre has an Indigenous Cultural team who works with our children, youth and families in sharing knowledge, engaging in traditional practices or teachings and promote understanding, awareness, appreciation and preservation of Indigenous culture and traditions.
